Boeing 767

The Boeing 767 is a twin-engine wide-body airliner designed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The 767 was developed to complement the predecessing 747 model, with the project initially launched under the 7X7 designation in 1978. The 767 was Boeing’s first wide-body jet design, encorporating a conventional tail, retractable landing gear and supercritical airfoil, in order to improve theaerodynamics and hence the performance of the 767. The first variant in the line was the 767-200, entering service in 1982 under United Airlines. The 767-200 was utilised as a domestic airliner, however all of today’s models in service are used in cargo and freight transport operations.
