Embraer E175 (ERJ-175)

The Embraer E-Jet family is a series of narrow-body twinjet commercial airliners, produced by Embraer of Brazil. Embraer introduced their initial EMB 170 aircraft at the Paris Air Show in 1999, after choosing to pursue the clean-sheet EMB 170 design, rather than further developing their ERJ 145 aircraft to compose the new 70-seat EMB 170 jetliner. The design comprised of a twin engine arrangement with General Electric CF34-8E powerplants, and utilising the “double bubble” format to facilitate for a stand-up cabin. The following variant E175 was built based on its predecessor, with a slightly stretched fuselage, seating up to 88 passengers depending on configuration. The E175’s main competition in the market was the contemporary Bombardier CRJ900, when the E175 entered service in 2005.
