The Fokker 100 is a medium-sized, twin-turbofan regional jet airliner developed and manufactured by the Dutch company Fokker. The Fokker 100 was based on the predecessing Fokker F28 (Mk 4000) model, with a lengthened fuselage, hence able to accommodate for 109 passengers. The new aircraft utilised the uprated Rolls-Royce RB.138 Tay engines, along with a wider wing, extended leading and trailing edges and other minor changes which had greatly improved aerodynamics. The Fokker 100 went to production in 1986, and due to its low operational costs became, sales were initially strong, however only 10 years later productions were ceased when Fokker went bankrupt in 1996.
