Bell 412Hp (Twin Pack Engine)

The Bell 412 is a utility helicopter designed and built by Bell Helicopter, and is part of the Huey family. Bell commenced developing the 412 in the late 1970s, based on a previous Bell aircraft, the 212. Two of the 212 models were converted and modified with a more powerful twin-pack engine, and a more sophisticated, four-blade rotor, to create prototypes of the new Bell 412, first flying in 1979. The initial Bell 412 model was certified in January 1981, and deliveries started right after the certification. The 1991 addition to the family is the Bell 412HP, which had eventually replaced the model 412SP, was a variant with upgraded transmission.
