Introduced in 1999, the Bombardier Global Express family is a large cabin, long-range business jet line, designed and produced by Bombardier Aviation. Following the purchase of Canadair, and their Challenger 600 jet, Bombardier aspired to develop a high speed, longer range business jet, with seating for a 8 passengers. The low-wing airframe comprised of semi-monocoque composite material and aluminium alloys, in order to grant a lighter aircraft, with fuselage mounted twin Rolls Royce engines. The latest addition to the Global Express family is the 6500 model, which entered service in June 2020. This model features improved wing configuration, a re-envisaged cabin interior and uprated Rolls-Royce Pearl engines.
